We need to update committee members
Of course, what a great site and informative posts, I will add backlink – bookmark this site? Regards,
Reader.
It would be nice if you guys update your events section (if there are any upcoming events)
Here is an upcoming event
Afghan Cultural Heritage Day Sept 18/2011
Afghan Cultural Heritage Day Sept 18/2011
The Afghan-Canadian Cultural Heritage Day is a one -day celebration that will be held at the Scandinavian Community Center, 6540 Thomas Street, Burnaby BC on September 18, 2011.
The objective of the event is to introduce Afghan cultural heritage and values to non-Afghan Canadians.
Purpose:
We would like to change the dialogue about the perception of non-Afghan Canadians about Afghanistan from a country of war to country with values and cultural heritage.
The Objective of the event is:
• to introduce the Afghan culture and build bridge between Afghans and non-Afghan Canadians;
• to promote cultural integration, understanding and respect among Canadians with diverse
cultural backgrounds; and
• to provide strength and acceptance for the Afghan community by promoting love, tolerance
and tranquility amongst Afghan-Canadians with different religious and ethnic backgrounds.
The event is open to the general public.
The main objective of this event is to introduce Afghan cultural heritage and values to British Columbians which include historical monuments, geographical terrain, literature, poetry, music, dance, food, agricultural products, traditional clothing fashion show and much more to non-
Afghan Canadians for the purpose of building bridges for an integrated and cohesive society.
We believe the best way to achieve this is through a peaceful and tranquil event that promotes
understanding and respect within our Canadian society.
Excellent website and a terrific team. You guys and gals are heroes because your making a positive difference in the community. Peace be with you. Abundant blessings and good fortune to all.
Welcome to Canada!
Your purpose to educate Canadians who hear about Afghanistan on a daily basis is commendable. Many Canadians don’t know anybody from Afghanistan or understand what is going on over there. We’re lucky since I have wonderful friends from there.
Would love to “like” you on Facebook. Do you have an address there?
Congratulations on your 1st event! See you there!
